Candidates for the WYCO must be between the ages of 12-18 and must be able to play at the level of the repertoire listed below.
Junior String Ensemble Candidates must be between 7-11 and must be on the level of Vivaldi violin concertos.

Violin:
A movement from any Bach, Telemann, or Handel sonata or partita.
A movement from a major concerto by composers such as Mozart, Bruch, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Lalo, etc. OR a virtuoso concert piece by Kreisler, Wieniawski, Saint-Saens, Sarasate, etc.
Viola:
A movement from any Bach solo sonata or partita.
A movement from a concerto or suite by composers such as Stamitz, Hoffmeister, Walton, Hindemith, Bloch, Bartok, Vaughan-Williams, etc.
Cello:
A movement from any Bach suite.
A movement from a concerto by composers such as Boccherini, Haydn, Dvorak, Saint-Saens, Lalo, etc.
Bass:
A movement from any Bach suite.
Pieces or concerti by composers such as Bottesini, Dittersdorf, Eccles, Marcello, Simandl, etc.
